It’s almost December! Whose ready for Christmas events…Week 1

Can you believe that we are almost to December?  I can’t believe it!  Christmas is my most favorite time of the year – It is not only the celebration of my Lord and Saviors birth…which is enough in itself!  The weather is usually (if we are lucky in Texas) cold or at least cooler, all the decorations and lights just make me SO happy!

Now that we are a family of 4…with 1 on the way, I have been wanting to make plans to make more memories and traditions in our little family.  In order to do that, I have done some research on some of the fun events that we can take part in around our area.  I mentioned it on facebook and some people asked for me to share…so I am!  Here is the first week of activities…just FYI – this list is not all inclusive of ALL events around, but the ones that I thought were the best fit for us. Just click on the title to link to more details!

Great Deal: We love Legos…and Legoland!

At our house Legos have become quite a big deal.  Jude is now 5 and he has begun to get really into Legos.  We had a Star Wars birthday and it began with all the really cool Star Wars Lego ships and characters.  Then we have a Legoland that is not too far from us that we went to visit and he LOVED it!  I have a feeling that this Christmas will be filled with lots of fun lego projects to build:)

Well…you may be thinking…what does this have to do with a “great deal”?  I found two things that I thought I would share with all the other boy mommies out there!  I have been researching holiday events in our area and while researching I ran across a great deal for Legoland year passes!

Legoland and Sea Life are both having GREAT deal on Annual Passes for the month of November.  Usually an individual year pass is $64.95 and for November it is $37.89 and the family pass (including 4 family members) is usually @216.50 and for November it is $108.25!  That is 50% off and really you only have to go a few times to get your moneys worth.  Click here to find your local Legoland.

The second thing that is available is a free Lego Club magazine.  It is really simple and I just signed up today!  Jude will be so excited to get his own mail and to take the time to look through and see all the fun stuff included.

Hope you enjoy!

Christie

Fall was here…and will hopefully be back soon!

A week or so ago we had a SUPER cold front that came through and it felt like we skipped over fall and went straight to pre-winter!  I was SO excited…the only bummer was that Jude had a soccer game and it was pretty chilly.  It happened to be when Aunt Jamie was in town and we got some cute pics of the family bundled up watching Jude play.

We also got to have our first fire of the season!  That is one of my favorite things that we have gotten to experience in our current house…a real fire!  It was so awesome…I can’t wait for the cold weather to come back!!

Happy Fall to You!

Happy Birthday Gigi!

I am a little behind, but we one of the benefits of homeschooling is that we can go to do things during the day after our school work is done:)  One thing we got to do is surprise Gigi for her birthday at work to have lunch with her and her co-workers.  She was super excited and we had fun at lunch!  The boys sure do love their Gigi!

Great Deal: 2012 State Fair of Texas Discounts and Deals

Who doesn’t love a good State Fair!  Funny story when Kevin and I met and were dating I found out that he (who was born and raised in the metroplex) had NEVER been to the state fair???  and me (who moved here in 1996) had been at least 2 or 3 times!!  I couldn’t believe that he had NEVER been??  Well, come to find out…that isn’t too uncommon, some of my friends recently have told me they have never been either.  It is so much fun…the food (my favorite), the rides (mainly the ferris wheel), the shows (lots of fun music for the hubby) and of course all the booths with random items that you just have to have!  The ONLY draw back…it is pretty pricey!  So today I received an email from Frugal in Fort Worth (one of my favorite Frugal blogs) with all the discounts available – I thought I would share it with you!
